Catalonia’s industrial competitiveness in the global frameCatalonia is an industrial country as a result of the nineteenth century industrial revolution. This character sets some imbalances affecting the competitiveness of industry and of the Catalan economy. The current Catalan industry represents the synthesis between a good potential for innovation based on its history and some structural deficits that hinder their adaptation to new conditions of global competition.

It is aimed at creating core strategic areas of innovation and business attraction strategies and activities, with common characteristics such as infrastructures, productive business, incubation systems, network connections and rich environment.
